Koh Ker temple, it was built in the reign of the king Jayavarman IV, who has ruled from 928 -> 941. It’s the state temple of him. It has 36 meters, 7 tiered pyramids and also set up the impressive shrines with the two‑meter 6 ft 7 in high linga. Koh Ker is a remote archaeological site in northern Cambodia about 120 kilometers away from Siem Reap and the ancient site of Angkor. It is a jungle filled region that is sparsely populated. More than 180 sanctuaries were found here. Koh Ker is the modern name of the Khmer empire. By the inscription, the town was mention as Lingapura (city of lingams). Under the reign of the king Jayavarman IV and Harshavarman II, Koh Ker was a briefly the capital of the empire (928 -> 944). It has 54 temples were constructed in his rule.
Day 1:
We are starting the tour at the open spaces in the edge side of the city, it’s away from the traffic, to training you driving motorbike until you have confidence. The tour will lead you to the countryside by back-road to get new experience of the daily life of Cambodian people lifestyle and visiting the beautiful losing temples in the jungle with no other tourists there, which called Banteay Ampil temple, located on southern of Kulen mountain range. After that, we driving through the villages across rice paddies fields to the charming restaurant for lunch. And then visit the mysterious temple is Beng Mealea temple nearby. That was built by the king Suryavarman II in the early 12 century and heading to Sroyorng village for accommodation and a nice dinner.
Day 2:
After breakfast, the tour will leave at 8:00 am in the morning to see the complex temple of Koh Ker that’s called Prasat Bram. The temple has many plantations are grown on it to make the temple more beauties and charming. Next driving to other temples was in the site ” Prasat Neang kmao, Prasat Krahom, Prasat Kra Chap, Prasat Linga,..etc”, then head to the Pyramid temple which built by the king Jayavarman IV who has ruled from 928 to 941 CE.
At a late, to visit the complex temple. We will be having lunch at the guesthouse and swimming at the big pool, then driving back to the same road to Svay Leu district to exploring the rock carving was built in 11 century. we’ll drive through the villages and heading back to the city.
